Meet Megan

My photographic practice is rooted in observation, human connection, and authenticity. I am drawn to the quiet, often overlooked moments that reveal something essential about what it means to be human. These are not staged encounters (minus my conceptual work), but genuine instances of presence—small gestures, fleeting expressions, and intimate exchanges that might otherwise pass unnoticed. I have always been attuned to these moments, seeing significance in details that many overlook.

The philosophy of Ubuntu—"I am because we are"—is central to my work. My photographs invite viewers to recognize themselves in the lives of others, dissolving the distance between subject and audience. I am interested in creating images that foster empathy and participation rather than passive observation. A sustained gaze or a quiet moment can create an unspoken sense of recognition, reminding us of our interconnectedness.

Ultimately, my work asks viewers to slow down: to pause, to notice, and to engage more deeply with the everyday. I hope my images transport viewers beyond observation, allowing them to experience the essence of the enviornmental portraits. I hope my photographs become an invitation to reflect on the beauty found in ordinary life and the profound connections that exist between us.
